Belonging to the alium family, onions are known for their pungent aroma, ability to reduce anyone (not wearing contacts) to tears and for their complete synergy with all things food! The most cultivated member of the alium family and with no end of uses we decided to make an onion ketchup - we can all agree fried onions on a burger are amazing!
Caramelised white onions grown in Kildonan are sautéed with spices and seasoning before being combined with our own fermented garlic. Sweet, tangy with a hint of acidity. Use as a condiment along side cooked chicken or veg, top a sausage sandwich or bake on puff pastry with chopped veg.
