Mushroom Ketchup
Ketchup is the name given to a sweet and tangy table condiment.
With multiple possible etymologies what is in agreement is that the original, thin and often fish based sauce (similar to Worcestershire sauce), has been unanimously adopted by the thicker "dollopable" ketchup of the modern fast food world. Recipes for ketchup in the UK date back as far as the 1600s with the first cookbook inclusions being for a ketchup made from mushrooms.
We have taken the historical recipes and techniques, adapted for the modern food safety environment, and created our first trio of ketchups. Featuring both field mushrooms and foraged porcini mushrooms this earthy, creamy ketchup is perfect to liven up a full cooked breakfast, add to sauces or soups, or make a bruschetta topped with parmesan and rocket.
